Thoughtful Thursday: Line upon Line

Feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, confused about all this couponing, deal making, saving money stuff? Don't be. Don't beat yourself up if you can't manage $.05 toilet paper right now. There is a learning curve in all things.

"For behold, thus saith the Lord God:  I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have."  2 Ne. 28:30

God doesn't expect us to be perfect at things the first time we try them.  Don't be discouraged.  Try something new this week to save your family money.  Don't be afraid that it isn't enough, because it is.  If you can save $1 this week over what you are used to spending you are succeeding.  Next week you can try something else.  Try one deal you've heard about.  Figure out a way to have access to the newspaper inserts.  Decide on a place to stash your stockpile.  Set up a family budget.

One of my favorite online celebrities Flylady calls them "babysteps"  before a person ever runs a marathon they took their first steps as an infant.  Start your babysteps today and soon [much sooner than you realize] you will be amazed at how far you've come.
