- Milk jugs freeze well. Just throw in the freezer when you get home from the store. You don't need to do anything special.
- To defrost your milk you can try a couple of different options. When the milk in the fridge is about half gone grab a new one from the freezer and place in the fridge it should be defrosted by the time you're ready to use it. Take a frozen gallon out of the freezer before you go to bed at night and put it in your sink, it will be ready to go in the morning. Or, place the frozen milk jug in a large pot with hot water and it will defrost quickly.
- When defrosted pick the jug up and open the lid. Let as much air in the jug as possible. Place the lid on tightly (before setting it down again) and give the jug two or three good shakes. This will re-homogenize the milk. The milk should stay mixed and ready to go.

Good Deal Alert: Milk
Kohler's has their Western Family brand milk on sale this week 3 for $6. Anytime I can find milk for under $2.50 a gallon I'm a happy camper. So, how can you best take advantage of this deal? Buy a bunch and freeze it. Don't worry it won't taste weird afterwards. Here are some tips for freezing milk:
